Successful Completion of the Webinar on “Branding Our Research”

A webinar on “Branding Our Research” has been successfully organized by the Green University Center for Research Innovation & Transformation (CRIT) on February 8, 2021 (Monday) at 04:15 p.m. through the online platform Zoom. This online seminar was sponsored by the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB).

As the Keynote Speaker, Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Chairperson, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, GUB has enriched the seminar. Honorable Vice Chancellor of GUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir graced the event as the chief guest and honorable Pro Vice Chancellor of GUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque was the special guest of this arrangement.

The Honorable Pro Vice Chancellor opened the program pointing to the webinar topic as the unique and significant one as well as expressing gratitude toward the speaker, presented guests and all the participants. Emphasizing the importance of research for the faculty members and the upcoming future professionals, that means, the students of the University, he disseminated the most important objectives of research branding. He also added, through branding, one can also promote his/her university or organization for upholding its dignity in carrying out research activities.

This talk was focused on some important steps that we could deploy to enhance our chance for generating more citations and informing our research output to the respective research community for future collaborations. The keynote speaker shared a few tricks and strategies that we could follow for branding our research for personal benefits as well as at the same time he also identified how the institution can also be benefited through this effort. He disseminated the approaches or strategies to promote our research into 3 segments- Project based, Person based and Institution based. He also suggested that once the article gets published, we need to do some additional work for branding our published work. In the Q-A session, the participants got some clear clues from the speaker about their queries.

The seminar ended up with the inspirational overview of Hon. Vice Chancellor of GUB and he pointed out some initiatives taken by the GUB, for example rewarding the excellent research publication, arranging research exhibitions and so on as the recognition of the researchers and to encourage the new researchers. He also showed utmost regard to the speaker for his effort that will open up and energize us to take further initiatives for branding our research.
