We are delighted to inform you that the IEEE Student Branch GUB, IEEE Computer Society Student Branch GUB, IEEE IU Student Branch, and IEEE Student Branch CU jointly organized a seminar on “Private AI Opportunities and Challenges” with the association of the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter (IEEE CS BDC) on August 13, 2023, via Zoom platform from 8:00 p.m. Almost 230 participants from Bangladesh and Pakistan registered for this event, and around 100 participants from different universities have joined this webinar. This seminar was an eye-opening event that brought together AI experts, industry practitioners, researchers, and academicians. The seminar aimed to shed light on the current status, future potential, and challenges of private AI. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr.Rajanikanth Aluvalu, SMIEEE, professor and head of the department of IT, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology. Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, SMIEEE, chairperson, dept of CSE, was the chief guest of that event, and Dr. Molla Shahadat Hossain Lipu, SMIEEE, Associate Professor Dept. of EEE, Advisor, IEEE PES GUB, was the special guest of that event. Dr. Rajanikanth Aluvalu is a renowned expert in the field of artificial intelligence. The speaker emphasized the growing importance of privacy in AI and how it is transforming the industry. He highlighted the ample opportunities in the field, including personalized experiences, improved customer services, and enhanced decision-making capabilities. However, he also stressed that these opportunities come with challenges such as data privacy, ethics, and security that must be addressed. The event featured panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions following the keynote address. Attendees had the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers, which led to insightful discussions on topics ranging from the research aspects of private AI to how important it is for an organization to build their learning model. Nowadays, most of the AI is public AI because the model was trained on public data. But in the data-driven world, we should consider data privacy. If an organization wants to build a specific AI model that will answer questions based on the organization's information and doesn't want to share its data outside. That considered private AI as a key concern. Apart from that, he also mentioned the disadvantages of private AI, which are inefficient data. It takes time to build the AI model with high accuracy because the data volume is small. Then, the seminar ended by giving thanks to the keynote speaker for such a wonderful and informative webinar. Finally, an online certificate was given to Dr. Rajanikanth Aluvalu by session chair Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahaman, sir.
