Champion in the Undergraduate Law Symposium, Summer 2025, NSU

We are delighted to share an achievement as a 4th-year student of the Department of Law and Memorial & Research Coordinator of the Green University Law and Mooting Society (GULMS), Syed Md Alamgir Hussain, has clinched the Championship title at the Undergraduate Law Symposium, Summer 2025, organized by the Department of Law and the Center for Legal Research (CLR), North South University. This championship has brought national recognition to our university.


The symposium was a remarkable gathering of young legal minds from across Bangladesh, providing a platform to present and discuss research on contemporary legal issues. Top 15 research papers were selected from different Universities all over the country. The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of North South University, as the Chief Guest, and Professor Dr. Abdur Rob Khan, Treasurer and Pro-Vice Chancellor (In-Charge), as the Special Guest. Dr. Md. Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences at North South University, also attended the event as a distinguished guest.

The judging panel comprised esteemed academics, including Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam, Professor, Jahangirnagar University; Dr. Noor-E-Medina Suraiya Jesmin, Assistant Professor, University of Asia Pacific; and Nabila Farhin, Senior Lecturer at East West University. Their insightful evaluation and encouragement made the symposium a truly inspiring academic experience.


Syed Md Alamgir Hussain presented the paper titled, 'Genocide, Ecocide, and the Climate Crisis: Rethinking Accountability in International Criminal Law' which also aligned with SDG 16 'Peace, justice, and strong institutions'. This outstanding accomplishment reflects his dedication to academic excellence, legal research, and advocacy. The Department of Law and GULMS takes immense pride in his achievement and extends its best wishes for his continued success.
