Library Orientation Program Organized for Newly Admitted ADS Students

The Green University Library, in collaboration with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (ADS), successfully organized a Library Orientation Program for newly admitted ADS students on Monday, 6 July 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The program was held at Seminar Room 302, A Building, with approximately 24 students participating.

The orientation program was designed to familiarize the newly admitted students with the library’s collections, services, facilities, and access procedures. Through an informative presentation and live demonstrations, the students learned how to search, access, and effectively utilize print and electronic resources to support their academic studies and future research activities.

The program began with a welcome address by Ms. Nawshaba Bulia, Library Officer, Green University Library, who also served as the anchor of the event. She welcomed the participants and introduced the distinguished guests, Mr. Rakib Abdullah, Lecturer, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and Executive Committee Member of the GUB Library, and Mr. Md. Maruful Islam, Lecturer, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

The session was further enriched by the presence of senior students Mr. Wasif Iqbal Rudra and Mr. Jisan Islam Anik (Batch 250), who interacted with the newly admitted students and shared their experiences. Ms. Bulia also encouraged the freshers to make the best use of the university library and its resources throughout their academic journey.

The technical session was conducted by Mr. Md. Tohidul Islam, Senior Library Officer, Green University Library. He provided an overview of the library’s print and electronic collections, borrowing procedures, study facilities, e-library services, rules and regulations, and other available user services. The students were also given live demonstrations on using the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) and accessing e-books, e-journals, scholarly databases, and academic resources from subscribed publishers. Advanced search techniques were demonstrated to help students efficiently find relevant academic materials.

Towards the end of the program, the newly admitted students were invited to share their initial experiences of university life and their impressions of the orientation session. Several students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the library facilities and services introduced during the program.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Nawshaba Bulia, who expressed her sincere appreciation to the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, faculty members, senior students, organizing team, and all participants for their valuable support and active participation.
