The Registrar, in their capacity as an institution's head of academic services, is in charge of creating, recording, appropriately interpreting, and enforcing academic policies, among other duties, with the guidance of senior institutional leadership. For the benefit of students, alumni, guardians, teachers, and administrative staff, the Registrar handles ambiguity and complexity while outlining policies in detail. In addition to maintaining records, creating policies, documenting, making situational decisions that affect a single student or group, and approving all new courses and policies to ensure they adhere to institutional standards, the office of the registrar also translates policy into practices and procedures for instructors, administrative staff, and students. It keeps institutional academic documents as a historical and legal record of every transaction and is the principal authority on the records of instructors, administrative staff, and students.
