The department of Sociology organized a field trip to Tanguar Haor, Sunamganj as part of the Research Methodology-I course on 19 and 20 August 2026.The field visit was designed to provide students with practical experience in data collection and field-based research. During the visit to Tanguar Haor, the students collected primary data from local people to explore the relationship between tourism, local livelihoods, and environmental change. Through interviews, observation, and interaction with community members, the students gained valuable insights into how tourism influences local economic activities, livelihood opportunities, and the surrounding environment.Alongside the academic activities, the students also had the opportunity to experience and appreciate the natural beauty of Tanguar Haor, making the field trip both educational and memorable.Overall, the field trip successfully connected classroom learning with real-world research practice and enhanced the students’ understanding of field data collection, community interaction, and environmental-social relationships.
