The Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) successfully organized a workshop titled “Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking” in collaboration with Prime Bank PLC at the university campus (Room A-409) ON 14th October, 2025. The event aimed to inspire and educate students about the importance of financial inclusion, financial literacy, and youth participation in the banking sector.
The workshop featured two distinguished speakers from Prime Bank PLC. Ms. Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of Liability, highlighted the purpose of the event, emphasizing the challenges and impacts of female leadership in the financial sector. Her insightful discussion inspired students to think about leadership roles and inclusivity within banking and beyond.
Mr. M. M. Mahbub Hasan, Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking, shared valuable insights about Prime Bank’s 30-year journey, underlining the importance of financial literacy and money management in students’ lives as a foundation for a prosperous future.
The event was graced by the presence of the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dean of Green Business School, and the Registrar of GUB, along with a large number of enthusiastic student participants. Following the workshop, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was successfully signed between Green University of Bangladesh and Prime Bank PLC, marking the beginning of a meaningful collaboration aimed at promoting financial literacy, youth engagement, and practical banking knowledge within the university community.
